I was scared.
I've never seen colours so vibrant.
I've never seen life so life-like.
I've never seen death so deadly.
I was scared.

I was scared.
It opened its mouth.
I saw the deep, dark way to the cavity.
I saw the deep, dark way to my death.
I was scared(and intrigued).

I was scared.
I was scared of falling down the black hole.
I was scared of not breathing any more.
What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be!
Dark but calm,
deep but comforting,
cruel but caring.
Death felt like the mother I've always craved.
And suddenly birds sang their sweetest,
the sun shone its brightest.
I was scared(and happy).
And peacefully dead.

P.S. This post is inspired from Fantabulous February-day fifteen by Kanika on her blog Sensitive Chaos. I'm so thankful to her for giving me a well-deserved break! I was feeling emotionally void.

  4. Beautifully expressd Soumi, taking a bleak topic and turning it into poetry is not easy !
Even more difficult is to look at a particular theme/ picture and weave a story/ poem around it that you are doing through this Fantabulous February series !

    1. I'm glad you like it,Sanghamitra. Your appreciation means a lot for me. Fantabulous February has been such a productive experience for me! The negative elements of my life(that I chose myself and now regret doing so)DID try to dampen my spirits but the support of you people have kept me alive.Thank you for everything.
